Let your bank know if you are in difficulty!

As the number of people in serious financial trouble continues to rise in the UK, yet again we are seeing more and more people burying their heads in the sand and hoping everything will be okay tomorrow. Debts are piling up, income is being spent on interest and pressure is building on everyday life for many people in the UK. So why are people still burying their head in the sand and hoping everything will be okay tomorrow?

Many people in the UK are scared of the short to medium term outlook for their finances, they are unaware that help is at hand, and they are not alone, and really are closing their eyes and hoping everything will "work out right". However, from the point of view of your creditors, probably your bank, they will not appreciate a lack of warning regarding your financial status and the longer you leave it the less understanding they are likely to be. Contacting your bank as soon as you feel the financial pressure building will demonstrate that you appreciate the reality of the situation and could give you vital breathing space.

Holding back and eventually contacting your creditors when it is too late will ensure that the number of options which had been open to you will now be closed. It is not a sign of weakness to ask for help but it is a sign of weakness to bury your head in the sand and hope that everything turns out right. If you put yourself in the position of your creditors what would you do?
