Why comparing bank accounts can save you money
The vast majority of people in the UK are unlikely to have changed their bank account over the last decade even though the process has never been easier. There are hundreds of thousands of sites on the Internet which offer access to the best rates and the best returns available and indeed in many cases the companies involved will "do the paperwork for you". So why are UK consumers and UK businesses not saving themselves money by changing bank accounts?
There is no doubt that by looking around at the best rates it will be possible to increase the interest rate on your current account, reduced charges and possibly give you access (in due course) to larger overdrafts and additional funding when required. Even though a few percentage points may seem nothing, if you have significant savings or significant money going through your accounts then over time it can make a difference. It is easy to forget that if you are not finding the best rates around then ultimately you are increasing the return which bank will be receiving on YOUR funds.
Changing bank accounts and changing banks has never been easier and it is literally up to you to make the first move!
