Consumers have been warned to check how they will be able to access their mini cash ISA by Abbey.
Recent research by the bank found that around one-in-five so-called 'easy access' accounts only allowed customers to access their money by one method.
This lack of accessibility might come as a surprise to some customers, who are used to having a variety of methods at their disposal by which to manage their accounts.
The research found that 49 per cent of accounts offered postal access, 51 per cent offered internet access, 53 per cent telephone access and 70 per cent of accounts offered in-branch access.
As few as 21 per cent of accounts offered only one way of accessing the ISA, with a further 43 per cent allowing just two methods of access.
Alexia Kilby, head of savings at Abbey, said: "Accessibility is an important issue when selecting an ISA.
"Primarily, the account has to offer a form of management that you are both comfortable and experienced with."
