Government Taxation Smoke And Mirrors

Government Taxation Smoke And Mirrors

In a move which will again dent the already fragile image of Gordon Brown it has been revealed that up to 18 million families will be £150 a year worse off over the next two years. It appears that the government “tax giveaway” was a smoke and mirrors trick to try and catch the eye of the voting public ahead of the Crewe and Nantwich by-election.

A report by the Institute of Fiscal studies shows how the recent changes in taxation will hit the UK public and the claims that all were compensated after the 10p tax band fiasco have been blown out of the water. On top of this it appears that the Crewe and Nantwich by-election is swinging the way of the Conservative Party after signs that support for Labour is disappearing fast.

Quite how Gordon Brown has got himself into such a situation is a little hard to believe, but problems keep appearing at regular intervals. If you compare the situation now with the situation 2 years ago you would hardly believe that this is the same government, a government which had the support of the majority of the voting public. Oh how times have changed for Gordon Brown......
