Are our MPs really in touch with the real world?

Thursday 23rd October 2008

As we hear promises of help on a near daily basis from the government and the opposition parties it seems more and more that they actually live on a different planet to the UK tax payer. While people are losing their homes, businesses are going under and unemployment is moving higher and higher we switch on the news to see them arguing about a political contribution which never happened and who stayed aboard a Russian business mans £80 million pound yacht. Surely there are more important things to be talking about?

The fact that our MPs feel that it is fair game to try and catch each other out and play petty school boy games is an embarrassment and a massive snub for the UK tax payer. We want our government to do just that, govern, we want our opposition parties to keep the government in line and we want answers, help and ideas!

The more petty squabbling we see in the Houses of Parliament the more out of touch these MPs all seem, but then again they are all tied up in with their gold plated tax payer funded pension schemes and their second home allowances. What does the tax payer get?
