Citizens advice bureau is 70 years old today
The citizens advice bureau is 70 years old today having survived wars, recessions, house price crashes and an array of other major issues and it still remains a key element of the UK welfare system!
The bureau has given advice to literally millions upon millions of UK consumers and businesses many of which have been desperate with nobody to turn to. While many older financial-based institutions have come and gone, the citizens advice bureau is stronger today than it ever has been.
Figures released from the citizens advice bureau suggest that more than 2.3 million people have been given assistance since the UK economy moved into recession, which is a significant increase on the previous period. There is no doubt that more and more people are now turning to the citizens advice bureau for assistance in matters regarding employment, investment and pensions where they are guaranteed the best advice possible and other potential sources of information.
This is a bureau which is literally had to change with the times, seen every change in society and the financial system, and ultimately learnt to adapt. It is one of the few public sector financial service institutions which have not attracted significant criticism with regards to the UK recession.
