Head of Royal Mail calls on unions to "shut up"

Adam Crozier, the head of Royal Mail, has this evening set the scene for some very difficult negotiations later this week after telling the unions to "shut up". In what many believe are the last ditch talks before more strike announcement prior to Christmas, this is a high-risk strategy by the head of Royal Mail and one which could backfire spectacularly!

It would seem that Adam Crozier is concerned that the unions are making various claims in the media, some of which have been challenged by the Royal Mail, and he believes this constant drip of negative comment and negative feedback is not helping the situation. However, the Royal Mail has had a number of opportunities to go to the mediation service ACAS and it does seem strange that on the verge of mediated talks the leader of the company has decided to go on the attack.

This will further infuriate the unions, who already believe that Adam Crozier and the UK government are working together to crush their power in the future, and it does not bode well for the next round of talks. UK consumers and UK businesses have already had a "taste" of what the strike action can do to the economy and business arena and concerns are beginning to grow.
