Barclaycard has announced the launch of a new credit card, which doubles up as an Oyster travel card.
Barclaycard OnePulse will be launched in London in September and employs and new contactless technology.
While the OnePulse can be used as a normal credit card for chip and pin transactions over £10, for purchases of values lower than this amount, cardholders can pay by touching their card against a reader instead of entering their pin number.
Cardholders can also use the OnePulse on the Transport for London network, as it has the additional functionality as an Oyster card, with customers able to choose a pay-as-you-go option or season ticket. Elizabeth Chambers, Barclaycard Chief Marketing Officer commented: "London is a fast paced, dynamic city that is always looking to the future. We wanted a brand name that conveyed the sense of energy that runs through the city whilst at the same time highlighting the cards unique three-in-one feature.
"We believe Barclaycard OnePulse is the future of payments in London and hope as many Londoners as possible enjoy the benefits when it is rolled out in the autumn."
