New research from Abbey shows that as many as one-in-ten credit card holders - that's three million people - use their credit card daily.
Of the 34 million Brits now in possession of a credit card, 54 per cent use their credit card once a week or more 35 per cent use their credit card once a month or less.
Abbey found that the most popular use for a credit card was for online shopping, with 61 per cent regularly shopping online with a credit card, but with only a slightly lower percentage (55 per cent) using their card on the high street.
The good news is that 57 per cent of credit cardholders pay off the balance on their cards every month, with only three per cent 'rarely managing to pay off their balance.
Roger Lovering, managing director of Abbey Credit Cards, said: "There is no one way that people use their credit card and we see as many different spending patterns as there are people."
