One of the easiest and most common forms of debt is credit card debt with the vast majority of the UK spending on a credit card each and every day. The problem with credit cards is the fact that they are too accessible, they are literally too easy to pull out of your pocket, type in the PIN and hey presto, you have probably bought something else that you cannot afford!
A couple of simple tricks to help reduce your credit card spending are :-
Don’t Take Your Card With You Every Where You Go
Many people seem to feel naked without their credit cards and take them every where they go. Next time you go shopping and you have enough money to pay for your shopping (or your debit card in your pocket), don’t take your credit card with you. Sounds simple, but it will save you a fortune.
Joint Accounts
If you have a joint credit card account then you will likely have a credit card each for the same account. Why not rip one card up and reduce your chances of over spending by 50% over night. Be careful who carries the card and how you spend it, but by limiting the opportunities to buy goods you don’t really need with your card, you will feel the benefit. |
