Bidding goodbye to the luxuries in life!
While more and more people in the UK continue to suffer financial hardship because of the ongoing recession, it seems that many people are unwilling to give up their luxuries of life including sky television and other such "necessities". Even though the philosophy that we "work to live, not live to work" is one which we should all abide by there are times when the luxuries need to be ditched in for other necessities.
It would be wrong to suggest that everybody in the UK is unwilling to give up their luxuries, but there are other areas of life which should be considered in these difficult times. As we touched on in one of our earlier post, pension fund arrangements are a necessity not a requirement for the future, although not all of the UK population will be in a position to move down this avenue. However, if we need to give up some of our luxuries in the short term then surely this is a move worth considering even if it lasts only a few weeks, months or perhaps a year?
While some people are suggesting the UK recession may have "bottomed out" there is no doubt that we all need to "tighten our belts" in the short to medium term to ensure we are not dragged under by the weight of financial stress being applied.
