Premier Inn launches the credit crunch honeymoon
In a sign of the times the Premier Inn hotel chain has launched a credit crunch honeymoon giving couples the chance of two nights away with extras for just £58. The offer is available until the end of September in 10 hotels across the chain and is open to couples who have been married or involved in a civil partnership agreement since the end of July.
Upon their arrival at the Premier Inn they will be welcomed with a bottle of sparkling wine, strawberries and chocolate, "glamorous nightwear" and a selection of spa treatments. The lucky couple will also be eligible for the all you can eat breakfast in the morning which may help to reinvigorate them!
While to all intents and purposes this is nothing but a very clever and slick marketing ploy to grab the headlines in these difficult times for the UK hotels sector, it will serve a purpose for those who are struggling to afford a traditional honeymoon and are finding money tight. When you consider that the average wedding now costs approaching £20,000, there are many couples out there who have little left over for the honeymoon of their dreams and for whom a few days away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life could be a godsend.
