The Home Office Finally Comes Of Age

The Commission for Rural Communities has announced an interesting new trend which is seeing more families move to the countryside to bring up their children. It seems that finally the home office has come of age with more and more people making use of broadband connections and working from the comfort of their own abodes. So why are people moving to the countryside?

While cost is one major issue for this new trend there are also concerns about safety in some of the larger cities across the UK with knife crime in particular of great concern to parents. Depending upon where people choose to live it should be easy to purchase a cheaper similar property to those in the city for a much reduced price, leaving more funds over for savings and other uses. There is also a growing recognition that many inner city schools are struggling to match the exam levels of those obtained by many country schools.

It may well be that many people had considered moving to the countryside some time ago and working from home, but until broadband was available across the UK this was not really feasible for a great number. Times are changing and it is not just the old and retired who are moving away into the sticks!
