Do You Really Need A Car?
On the back of our recent article about car insurance and the fact that premiums are forever on the rise, have you ever considered whether you actually need a car? Do you really get value for money for the road tax, car insurance, maintenance costs and fuel that you use?
Even though the UK has one of the better public transport networks in the world there are still a number of areas which need significant investment and improvement, but what comes first? The customer, or the investment?
This has been the eternal problem with the UK, getting people to leave their cars at home and use public transport. If you live in London there is no doubt a bus on ever corner but if you live in the highlands of Scotland the service is very much different. As much as many people would like to dump their cars and use public transport, trains, buses, etc, it is just not possible as many services are not there. There is also a lack of trust in many services which are there, something which has stopped many from making the switch.
Until public transport is both more readily available and cost affective, the number of cars on the roads of the UK looks set to rise and rise.
