Is it time to install a water meter?
Even though water meters have become more and more popular with the water companies over the last few years, there has been a general feeling that it is not in the best interests of customers to install such devices. However, do you really know how much water you use in your home and what it is costing you?
The next few years will see a variety of green taxes introduced to the UK consumer market, many of which will be centred around wastage with water use set to become an issue in due course. Even though the main problem with the UK water system is basically the old types of pipes still in use, many of which are leaking, there are ways to control your water usage and what you pay. Imagine being able to save hundreds of pounds off your water bill each year just by installing a water meter and monitoring your use of what is becoming an expensive commodity.
There are many ways to save water such as ensuring your washing machine is full when in use, knocking off the tap while cleaning your teeth and taking showers rather than baths, but have you thought how much you could really save?
