When should you realign your assets?
Over the last few months the UK stock market has performed admirably even though the UK economy has not matched this particular feat. However, a number of investors in the UK have seen their investments rise significantly over the short to medium term and many are now starting to look into potentially realign their assets and possibly taking profits where possible. This prompts the question, when should you realign your assets?
The truth is that in this most difficult of economic environments it is sensible to maintain a close eye on your investments although day-to-day changes are not the answer. There are particular assets and particular sectors in the investment markets which will perform better in recession and there are others which will push ahead at a faster speed when the recession finally ends. Trying to balance these particular asset classes is a skill which few people have mastered and to be honest if you have a number of investments it may be worthwhile taking professional advice from a financial adviser.
Not only will they be able to hold regular meetings with you, where your assets will be discussed as well as any potential changes, but they will also be able to pinpoint changes in the marketplace and company news which could impact upon the value of your assets.
