People heading off on skiing holidays have been urged to take a moment to think about their travel insurance requirements.
InsureandGo has warned travellers that they should ensure they have adequate travel insurance policies in place when heading to the slopes this winter.
Spokesman Perry Wilson also warned skiers to make sure that they take proper precautions when on piste this winter and do not do things that could cause significant damage.
One thing he warned against in particular was the threat of combining alcohol with skiing. Mr Wilson urged skiers to drink "in moderation".
He continued: "When you're combining alcohol with a dangerous sport, like skiing, you can cause a lot of damage to people.
"If you have insurance, you must act responsibly and not take risks that would be outside it."
According to research conducted on behalf of InsureandGo in December, 11 per cent of people who have skied or snowboarded - an estimated 1.38 million people - have done so while drunk.
