Travel Insurance Warning As The Holiday Season Approaches

Sunday 18th May 2008

As we approach the peak of the holiday season many of the UK’s consumer groups are warning travellers to ensure that they are fully covered when they go overseas, and know exactly what they can and cannot claim for. In these times of economic uncertainty it seems that more and more people are looking to reduce costs as much as possible, with travel insurance often top of the list.

Too many people are venturing overseas assuming that the free travel insurance which they receive from their bank will be enough to cover them for every eventuality – this is not the case. There is a real need to consider specialist travel insurance for the whole family covering all eventualities. People seem to forget that there is no National Health Service in any other country around the world and the cost of medical treatment overseas continues to rise and rise.

In the event of an accident or loss of money, passports, etc it is vital that you are able to resolve the situation as soon as possible because the consequences of delays and additional expenditure can be alarming to say the least. Enjoy the sun, but also ensure you have peace of mind!
