The Association of British Insurers has advised employers in the UK to provide private medical insurance for their workers, detailing the benefits of making such a provision.
Spokesman Jonathon French has highlighted the advantages of securing private policies for employees in the case of injury or sickness.
He said: "It's certainly something which many companies consider a good thing for the sake of the company overall and indeed more importantly for the individual employees."

According to a survey carried out among 1,400 GPs, over 60 per cent thought that productivity in the workplace is directly affected by general wellbeing.
ABI figures show that over six million people were covered by corporate or personal medical insurance in the UK during 2007.
