Is It Time To Consider Private Healthcare?

Saturday 19th July 2008

As the average life expectancy of the UK population continues to rise quicker than even government experts had expected, many are now being forced to consider private healthcare for themselves and their family. The NHS has been creaking under the strain for some time and while some areas of the NHS are still ‘free’ the service is slowly being privatised by the very government that created the institution. Is it really time to take a serious look at private healthcare?

The age old argument from those who do not have private healthcare insurance has been the fact that they contribute towards the NHS with their taxes. In years gone by this has been a very fair argument but slowly we are seeing changes in the NHS with treatment times getting longer, life saving drugs being refused and something of a postcode lottery across the UK.

For those looking to ensure that their families are well catered for, now is the time to have a closer look at healthcare to suit their needs. While it may be optional at the moment it seems more a case of when rather than if it will become compulsory.
