Do You Actually Know How Much You Are Worth Now?

Sunday 20th July 2008

As the UK economy continues to spiral down towards a deep recession, the property market continues to struggle and personal debt shows no signs of falling, have you ever asked yourself how much you are worth at this moment in time? Taking into account all of your investment and your debts, what is your net position?

If you are like 99% of the UK population you will either have no idea how much you are worth, or owe, with many burying their heads in the sand hoping that the chasing letters will all go away. But now is the time to see exactly where the last few years has left you, what you can afford and what you may have to let go. Simply take out a piece of paper and divide it down the middle, debts to the left, assets to the right.

While this may all sound a little tedious and a waste of time, you might be very surprised to see your real situation, the one you may have been trying to avoid for some time. The average UK consumer has no idea of their financial position and many are living from hand to mouth with no chance of putting any savings aside for a rainy day. Do yourself a favour, check out your finances before the heavens open!
