Gordon Brown assures Europe on banking future

While he is the centre of much criticism at home it seems as though Gordon Brown is again using the European stage to further his reputation on the international stage at the expense of the UK. As the UK economy goes from bad to worse and voters call for more action he has announced that no solvent Bank in Europe would be allowed to collapse in the face of the current difficulties.

These comments are designed to instil confidence into European financial markets but for many they are hollow words which need to be backed up by good old fashioned action. In line with former PM Tony Blair there seems to be a rush to assist Europe while leaving home markets to burn. The public are crying out for help and if Gordon Brown does not answer very soon then the UK voter will surely look elsewhere for representation.

Gordon Brown has been warned by the UK voting public that he needs to address issues at home before he starts to meddle in European affairs. Now is the time to stay put in the UK, not to swan off to fancy EU meetings which are used as mouthpieces and to release the same old sound bites. Remember Gordon, charity begins at home!
