Is it the right time to start a pension plan?
For those entering work and able to put even a small amount of money aside each month, now could turn out to be a perfect time to invest in your pension plan for the longer term. Stock markets have collapsed around the world and the short term outlook is not good but if you are investing for 20, 30 or even 40 years it may turn out to be a great opportunity.
Even in the hard times we should all try and look to the future as much as possible and ensure that our long terms plans are affected as little as possible by short term considerations. While there will be occasions where budgets need to be cut, a pension is literally your investment for the future, your safety net and your life line in old age.
This is the time we should be looking to obtain long term financial advice with regards to our pension plans and ensuring the advice sought actually reflects individual situations. Life is tough for us all at the moment but a quick glimpse at how the elderly have suffered over the last few years will give you a real reality check. Short term pain should equal long term gain if the correct advice is taken and acted upon.
