Women make a success of property investments

Monday 17th September 2007

According to a new study conducted by Bradford & Bingley, women are just as successful and ambitious as men when it comes to property investments.

The study found that over three quarters of female property investors manage to hold down day jobs, as well as manage their investment properties and a quarter said that they intended to expand their sideline by investing in further properties within the next 12 months

Some 42 per cent said that they would be happy take on much of the renovation work needed themselves, while 90 per cent said they deal personally with tradespeople, however, almost half felt they were overcharged because they were women.

The actress Fiona Fullerton, herself a highly respected and successful property investor and face of the Bradford & Bingley Property Woman of the Year awards said: "Women are taking control by buying and renovating properties and are being hugely successful at it.

"Many women have a strong business sense and when combined with an innate ability to multitask and a key eye for design, it can often create a winning formula."
