Have We Seen The End Of The Property Programs On TV?

Sunday 27th July 2008

The rise and rise of such programs as Channel 5’s ‘How to be a property developer’ have reflected the massive public support for financial advice programs where it seems very easy to make a fortune. Many people have followed these programs and invested into the property market, even though a great number were not experienced in the first place, often banking big bucks in the process. While it was easy to make a nice return in the good times, how will investors feel when they take a hit in the lean times?

There are some very worried financial experts in the TV industry who are concerned that this once buoyant area of the TV world may well see its adoring audience turn against it. After all how do you explain the situation to someone who has seen their property investment fall in value, yet they are still stuck with a large mortgage they are struggling to pay?

While it may be a little too soon to call the end of these financial programs, they will certainly see a different reaction in the weeks and months ahead as investors continue to suffer. If they can make it through to the next boom stage of the property market, great, if not then there may be trouble ahead.
