Recycling will take centre stage for UK households
Slowly but surely UK local authorities are moving towards a much stricter and controversial recycling policy which could see traditional "black bins" taken away. The authorities have announced a 12 week consultation period regarding the introduction of yet more recycling bins forcing households up and down the UK to recycle literally everything which they are about to throw out. But what are the consequences for those who fail to recycle?
While no local authority and no government MP will actually step into the public domain and confirm this, there are growing concerns that fines will be introduced in the short to medium term for those deemed not to have recycled all of their waste. The idea is that less and less waste from UK households will be placed into landfill sites which are currently under threat from EU regulations and EU fines, which the UK government is fighting. As a consequence, recycling will become an everyday part of waste disposal for many households in the UK placing more emphasis back upon the UK public at a time when local authority costs and local authority taxes continue to increase.
Quite bizarrely, it appears that UK citizens are paying more than ever in national and local taxes and receiving fewer services and fewer benefits for this.
