Car insurance premiums set to rise
A growing number of "crash for cash" scams in the UK and car insurance fraud have directly influenced the ever-growing rise in UK car insurance premiums which increased by 12% between January and June of 2010. This is the unseen cost of car insurance fraud and unfortunately it is something which law-abiding customers are being forced to cover. At a time when UK finances are literally being stretched to the limit this is the last thing that UK car owners wanted to see!
The truth is that car insurance premiums in the UK have been rising year-on-year for some time now and some motorists, when taking into account the overall cost of maintaining a car on the road, are starting to look elsewhere. Whether this will prompt the UK government to inject more money into the public transport network in the UK remains to be seen but if anything this is possibly an opportune moment for the government to push ahead with the development of train and bus networks.
It is this unseen cost of car insurance fraud, and the fact that law-abiding citizens are being forced to cover this growing bill, which is causing significant resentment amongst UK motors. But what option do the UK government and UK insurers have?
