Manchester City sign £1 billion property development agreement
Manchester City football club, currently under the ownership of Sheikh Mansour, has today announced plans for a £1 billion development of the land around the football club stadium. This is part of a wider development in the Manchester area with co-operation from the Manchester City Council.
The move will revitalise an area of Manchester which has for many years been in decline and bring employment opportunities to an area of the city which has been crying out for investment for many years. Ever since the new owner took over the club back in 2008 there has been speculation regarding property development in the region and today's announcement has been welcomed across the board.
As well as introducing a state-of-the-art sports complex it is hoped that investment by the club owner will allow an extension of the 48,000 capacity in the stadium itself. There is already a transport link to the main city centre via the tram system which will prove very useful in attracting investment, businesses and consumers to the area.
Since taking over the club Sheikh Mansour has invested millions upon millions of pounds in players and today's announcement of a total redevelopment of the area will allay any fears that he may only be there for the short term. Manchester is in the minds of many people the focal point of the Northwest of England and a prominent business arena for those outside of London.
