UK government set to loan Iceland £3 billion!

In a move which is sure to grab the headlines for all of the wrong reasons it has been announced that the UK government is on the verge of forwarding a £3 billion loan to Iceland in order to ensure that UK savers who lost money in the collapse are reimbursed. How perverse that the very people who are being reimbursed are the ones who are paying for the compensation scheme - what has it all come to?

Who is to say that Iceland will not collapse again?

As the UK population continue to get hit with ever increasing energy bills, tax from every angle, all with the pressure of growing unemployment in the background, why could the government not find £3 billion to help the UK taxpayer? Why is your hard earned money going to what has proven to be one of the riskiest economies in the world?

When you actually sit back and count up how much money the government has spent over the last 12 months, and how much they plan to spend over the next 12 months, it all seems like monopoly money. Is it all actually real and if so, where did it all come from?
