What is the point of saving in the UK?
As more and more money is poured into areas of UK business and the UK population many savers are now asking why they should be forced to live off their own nest eggs rather than increase their benefit payments like many others have been doing over the last few months. Why should this group of the UK population see their nest eggs slowly whittled away while the government seems to be throwing money hand over fist towards those who have over extended their finances both in business and personal use.
If Gordon Brown is not able to refloat the UK banking sector then there will be a massive increase in benefit payments over the coming months and years, something which were either push UK taxes to unsustainably high levels or see UK national debt increase yet further. More and more of the UK population are questioning why they should be working hard to support their families when the UK government is using billions upon billions of taxpayers money to bail out areas of industry which have overextended themselves in the last decade.
The voice of UK savers may be quiet at the moment but it is beginning to get louder and louder!
