Where did all the climate change money go?

The United Nations has revealed that despite the fact that 20 nations pledged $410 million a year back in 2001, to be used by developing countries to tackle climate change, there is only $260 million available today despite the fact the fund should be worth in excess of $1.6 billion. There is concern as to whether all obligations signed by the 20 nations back in 2001 have been fulfilled or whether there is money waiting to be paid into the two United Nations funds in question.

This further highlights the problem of climate change and green taxes which have cost worldwide consumers and businesses billions upon billions of dollars over the last few years. Each week we seem to see new green initiatives and new green taxes introduced around the world but as these figures show, are governments around the world fulfilling their promises?

Today's announcement from the United Nations, which has been refuted by the EU, will further muddy the water with regards to climate change funding and green taxes. Consumers and businesses in the UK have been hit particularly hard over the last few years and indeed the likes of Gordon Brown and other leaders before him have made great promises with regards to climate change funding.
