Gordon Brown takes a pounding at the European Parliament
An attack by Conservative MEP Dan Hannan has exploded onto YouTube and become one of the most watched videos of recent times. So what exactly did the Conservative MEP do to attract such attention on YouTube and who was his victim?
As you might guess from the headline, Gordon Brown was on the end of a vicious tongue lashing from the Conservative MEP as he was forced to sit through an attack which was both personal, political and heart felt by many throughout the UK. Unlike many of his interviews where he has been able to respond or walk away, Gordon Brown was forced to sit there for three minutes while Dan Hannan managed to detail every mistake the UK government has ever made.
Just a few months ago such an attack would have been thought impossible but because of political uncertainty and the ongoing economic crisis in the UK, Gordon Brown has become "easy prey" for many opposition MPs. His European counterparts have turned against him because of his willingness to "get into bed" with the American authorities and while on one side he suggests protectionism is bad and should be avoided he then promises "British jobs for British workers". Things really do seem to have taken a turn for the worse for Gordon Brown.
