ASDA rewards staff with £1.6 million bonus scheme

UK supermarket giant Asda has today announced a £1.6 million bonus scheme which will see staff with a minimum of three years service receive an average bonus of £130. When you consider the average Asda employee has been with the operation for five years, it would appear that the vast majority of those working for the Wal-Mart subsidiary will benefit financially.

At a time when many companies in the UK are struggling to make ends meet, the likes of Asda and other supermarket giants appear to be making great strides. Companies such as Asda, Tesco and Morrisons have benefited to a large extent by repositioning themselves as the UK economy continued to slide and many shoppers began looking for cheaper options. Even though this particular trend is likely to continue for some time to come, ultimately as and when the economy recovers, the likes of Asda and Tesco will then start to promote more expensive goods knowing that customers will be looking to upgrade their shopping in due course.

There are many companies in the UK, especially the food sector, who benefit in the good times and the bad times but there are very few who can match the likes of Asda and Tesco who are experts at aligning their produce directly with their customer needs.
