Is the UK economic environment pushing more and more people overseas?

Even though there has always been a healthy flow of UK citizens looking to relocate overseas, to countries such as Spain, it appears that the ongoing economic downturn and the ever increasing cost of living in the UK may well be pushing more and more people overseas. There is a feeling that many people are starting to look at a new life overseas because of the economic and political situation and ultimately because they feel there is better value in other areas of the world.

However, the vast majority of these people are currently tied into their own property nightmare and until the UK property sector shows signs of easing up they will probably have to do with the UK weather and economic climate for the foreseeable future. Whether the grass is always greener on the other side is debatable but it seems that more and more people are willing to take the chance and look for employment on the other side of the world, and potentially start a new life.

If taxation rates are even a remote consideration for any of those looking to move overseas then the next few years will be pretty difficult to say the least. Income tax rates are certain to rise and we will also see the introduction of indirect taxes (otherwise known as stealth taxes) which will often be introduced "under cover of darkness". Oh the joys!
