Is the next government taking on a poisoned chalice?

As we approach the next general election more and more people believe we will see a change of government with the Labour Party cast aside in favour of the Conservatives. However, even the most ardent Tory supporters are concerned that the next government will inherit something of a poisoned chalice because ultimately there will be very little room for manoeuvre with regards to taxes and investment in the UK economy.

While there is no doubt that the current government have played a prominent role in the decline in UK economy over the last two years, voters and politicians have very short memories when it comes to playing the blame game and when the next government takes office all issues of the past will be forgotten. There is no doubt that David Cameron will have his hands full trying to placate his supporters while also trying to rearrange and replenish the UK Plc balance sheet. Is he up to the job?

As we approach crunch time in the UK political arena there are still many questions to be answered regarding David Cameron's experience and ability to manage the country. While we should find out more about "Call me Dave" over the next few months, we will only really find out what he is made of if he manages to secure a victory for the Conservative party.
