Recession holds back UK entrepreneurs
The UK has for many years been a hotbed of entrepreneurial talent with new companies and new ideas arising on a regular basis. However, as you might expect, the ongoing UK recession is seeing more and more entrepreneurs holding back on their ideas due to a mixture of market conditions and reduced liquidity in the money markets. There is growing concern that many of these entrepreneurs will either fall by the wayside in due course or move overseas to push ahead with their new investment ideas.
The UK government has been fairly proactive over the years with regards to young entrepreneurs with a number of funding initiatives and funding schemes brought into the mainstream. There is a feeling that the UK government will, at least in the short term, need to step in with additional investment to support some of the bright and potentially lucrative ideas which are currently held within UK shores. Let's not forget that the young entrepreneurs if today are potentially enormous employers of tomorrow and can bringing significant tax income for the UK government and benefits to the UK economy.
We need to continue feeding the entrepreneurial market in the UK before overseas investors begin to pick off the brightest new talent in the UK and take them overseas.
