Queen's speech to be used for attack on the City

This afternoon's Queen's speech in Parliament will be used as a springboard to attack the City of London and the financial sector. Despite the fact that we only have a few months until the next general election it is well known that the UK government will be presenting a massive number of "voter friendly" policies which will likely never see the light of day. In what many see as one of the biggest PR stunts of recent years, in the political arena, there is dismay in some quarters regarding the government’s handling of the situation.

The idea is that a mass of "voter friendly" policies will place pressure on the Conservative party to agree or disagree with Labour Party moves which will then likely split some electorate groups down the middle. Even though many in the Labour Party believe an election win is out of the question, there is a growing belief that the party can at the very least reduce any potential Conservative majority to a minimum. This would then allow both the Labour Party and fringe parties in the House of Commons to at least influence Conservative policies, assuming that they win the next general election.
