Conservative party issue new guidelines for foreign students
In what is seen by many as an attempt to close a loophole which has allowed thousands of people into the UK under a student visa, the Conservative party is set to put in place proposals which would see every foreign student put forward a bond of £6000. This bond will be payable upon entry to the UK and would be repaid once the student has left the country.
However, there is some friction with various associations in the UK who claim that foreign students contribute billions of pounds to the UK economy each and every year. There is also the fact that many foreign students remain in the UK taking up skilled working positions in vital areas of the economy. This particular move by the Conservative party will no doubt highlight what opponents believe is an anti-immigration policy.
However, at this point in time the Conservative party seems to be that one with the feeling of the UK population, many of whom would like limits placed on how many people can enter the UK each and every year. Whether this particular proposal would actually come to fruition if the Conservative party was to gain power is highly debatable.
