Gordon Brown admits that he has made mistakes

As Gordon Brown looks forward to what is expected to be a very stormy Labour Party conference this week, he has finally admitted that he has made mistakes but insists that he is still the best man for the job. Despite burying his head in the sand for months and claiming the UK was ready to withstand the expected downturn in the economy he only recently admitted that a recession is very likely. He has also made a number of high profile u-turns and some how managed to turn the whole business community against his party.

While it is all well and good to hold your hands up and admit that you have made mistakes, this is the UK economy which we are talking about, not a private business. The PM and his advisers cost the tax payer hundreds of millions of pounds a year and mistakes just should not happen. Many believe that his biggest mistake was not listening to the pubic and continuing to squeeze as much money out of the UK population as possible.

Has Gordon Brown managed to save his skin? Or is the final curtain coming down on the political life of the PM?
