Is the Bank of England on the verge of a rate cut?
While we have been in this situation before, with many different parties throughout UK demanding interest rate reductions, we actually seem to be hearing the same demand from within the Bank of England. This is a pivotal change in the bank's recent policy and many experts believe a reduction in UK interest rates will happen very soon and possibly over the next seven days.
The fact that the Bank of England recently released a report criticising itself with regards to the speed at which interest rates have been changing in the UK has been taken by many experts as the most obvious hint that rate cuts are imminent. There is no doubt that sectors such as the small business arena, property market and the UK high street are in desperate need of further assistance. Without assistance we may well see a great number of UK companies go out of business over the next 12 months.
While interest rates are one area in which the Bank of England can assist small businesses it will be the effect of increased equity in the money markets, interest rate reductions and an improving confidence on the side of the UK consumer which together are the real key.
