Accountancy firms have 15 pre-packed administrators ready to go
It has been revealed that the U.K.'s largest accountancy firms have 15 so-called pre-packed administrators ready to go as concerns about the UK high street continue to rise. It is forecast that up to 15 retail giants will go bust in New Year as consumer spending continues to fall and consumer confidence remains critically low. This is the clearest sign yet that all is not well on the UK Street and while no names have been mentioned as yet many rumours are circulating within the city.
Many UK retailers have also decided to remain open 24 hours a day in the run up to Christmas in the hope that they can catch some pre-Christmas spirit from UK consumers looking for bargains. Whether this will be enough to haul many of them out of their deep financial problems remains to be seen with concerns that some have fallen too far. Consumers who have money to spend are likely to see some very interesting bargains over the next few days with prices set to plummet as desperation sets in amongst UK retailers.
This has the potential to be the worst Christmas retail season for decades and could literally change the landscape of the UK high street forever.
