Is the Gordon Brown bounce over?
As bizarre as it may sound, the economic turmoil within the UK had appeared to be the best option for Gordon Brown to win the next general election. Since the slowdown began his rating with voters in the UK has increased substantially but recent signs suggest that the Gordon Brown "bounce" could well be coming to an end. A number of recent polls have shown support for the Conservative Party is increasing and the Labour Party is now between five points and seven points behind in the polls.
While this is not the first time that Gordon Brown has slipped behind the Conservatives there is a feeling that after making a good start at his attempt to float the UK economy there are now concerns that too much taxpayers money is being given to industries which have benefited in the boom times and given very little back to consumers. However, all is not lost for Gordon Brown as he has a number of rescue packages in place which could kick in at any moment and refloat not only the UK economy but his standing in the polls.
The next 12 months is not only vital for the UK economy but also the future of Gordon Brown and this current Labour government.
