CBI warns of business nightmare
The CBI has again stepped forward to suggest that the number of UK businesses which could go under is set to rise in the coming months. Despite a number of assurances by the UK authorities it appears as though access to credit has worsened over the last three months with 63% of firms surveyed confirming this situation. Without access to credit a growing number of UK businesses will face serious financial trouble and the CBI is demanding that the UK government instigate the various rescue packages and finance programs it has been promising for some time.
This is yet another example of the UK government announcing a variety of headline grabbing packages which are very often so different when the small print is announced. There have also been serious delays in rolling out these various rescue packages although the UK banking sector does not appear to have to wait in line like many other areas of the UK economy. This will move the focus onto the financial sector where the injection of billions of pounds has seen no benefit whatsoever to consumers or businesses around the UK and many taxpayers are starting to question exactly what is going on.
The CBI is a very influential confederation and very much has its finger on the pulse of the UK economy.
