Who looks after the money in your household?
It seems that in every household across the UK there is one particular party, whether this is the man or the woman, who takes more control over the home finances than anybody else. However, it is also well-known that many couples have significant problems and arguments with regards to money mainly because of misunderstandings in the way money is spent and how it is allocated across different accounts.
If you are living with your husband or wife, or partner, it is vital that all parties take an interest in the home finances because not only does this reduced the chances of arguments and disagreements but what will happen if one party was to be in an accident?
These are things which many people are frightened to talk about and even more frightened to think about but these are issues which need to be addressed. If you have children, what would happen if your finances were in a mess and you were unable to control them in the event that your partner was not available for any reason?
All parties in the household should at least be aware of the various bank accounts, usernames, passwords and the location of various cheque-books, credit cards and debit card. You never know what's round the corner!
