Simple ways to save money : Sky TV

In many homes up and down the country the television set can very often be the main focal point of entertainment for all members of the family. We have sports channels, cartoon channels, news channels, documentary channels and specialist subjects of every type you can imagine. However, with some people in the UK paying upwards of £100 a month for their satellite TV channels, are there any savings to be made?

The brutal fact is that while we think the TV is the focal point of family life, very often as children grow older and parents find new interests, many of the channels which we are paying significant amounts of money for each month are potentially left unused. When was the last time you watched the movie channel? Do you make full use of your sports channel subscription?

If the answer to any of these questions is no then you need to look again at your Sky TV and other satellite TV subscriptions with the possibility of switching to Freeview where many of the more basic services are free to air. Whether you then look to re-introduce your more expensive Sky packages in the future is debatable, but there are significant savings to be made in the short term.
