Using a debit card to save money

As with direct debits, mentioned in our earlier post, which you can use to pay your monthly bills and save on excess spending, the same is true of debit cards. How many times have you been shopping and taken out over and beyond the amount of money which you require only to see the excess disappear on items which you maybe do not require?

The trick to saving money and reducing your monthly budget is cutting out the excess spending which is more convenience and impulse buying rather than items you actually need. Next time you go shopping why not produce yourself a shopping list before you go and stick to the list rather than pick up bits and pieces along the way. When you get to the till use your debit card to pay the amount in full and pay exactly to the penny what you have spent. Resist the temptation to take any cashback or pop to the local cashpoint and slowly but surely you will see your monthly budget start to reduce and savings made.

While these particular ideas may seem very simple and straightforward just ask yourself if you actually do it?
