Why doing nothing can save you so much money
Even though society has changed dramatically over the last few years with the introduction of the Internet, the mobile phone and other devices which effectively allow us to communicate from a distance, there is still a substantial market in the restaurant arena and children's entertainment to name but a few. One thing that you can be sure of is that if you go away for a family day you will spend substantially more than you budgeted for when taking into account tickets, food, travel and other aspects of your day away. So what can you do to save money?
In these times of economic hardship there are many interests and activities available on your doorsteps (and within your home) which cost nothing at all and would be as enjoyable to the children as spending £100 on a day away. Every now and again, if your budget is stretched, why not decide to have a day inside and entertain the children from home. Not only will it allow you to have quality time with your family but will also save you a substantial amount of money which very often we do not have to spend.
A walk with the dog, a bike ride, a walk in the countryside and similar outside activities are inexpensive and in many ways just as enjoyable as a day away - or why not sit down to a DVD and pretend you are at the cinema!
