Can you control your own budget?
In these very difficult economic times it is vital that we all learn to control our budgets better and cut out waste where possible. While 90% of the UK public may believe they have control of their budgets if we are totally honest the vast majority of us waste money on a regular basis, money which can prove vital in these difficult times.
However, in no way shape or form should luxury spending be ignored because ultimately the vast majority of UK public work to live not live to work. What would be the point of spending hours a day behind a desk, on the shop floor or advising people without some benefit for ourselves?
The trick to controlling your budget is knowing when to spend on luxury items and luxury services and when to cut back and save. Even if we have to go through the next 6 to 12 months cutting back on takeaways, days away, holidays and the like there are significant benefits in the longer term. The old term "short-term pain for long-term gain" has never been more apt than in today's environment and even just a few pounds savings per month will add up and could help in emergencies.
