Do you ever feel a cold chill in your home?
There are many areas of everyday life where it is difficult to cut costs and save money but there are also many simple techniques which we seem to ignore which can actually save us a lot of money in the short, medium and longer term.
How many times have you sat in your home with the wind howling outside and noticed something of a cold chill around your window frames and your door frames? This is a common occurrence in many homers up and down the UK but one which can be rectified in a few moments. However, the longer you leave it the more money that will literally be floating out of your home because each blast of wind can reduce the temperature in your home and ultimately increase your energy bills.
The best way to ensure your windows and doors are a strong barrier to the elements is to buy simple insulating foam which comes in thin strips and can be cut to suit the dimensions of your doorframe and your window frame. Simply place these strips at areas where the "the wind is howling through" and very quickly you will reduce the impact of the outside weather on the temperature in your home. These are not tricky DIY manoeuvres, these are not expensive and ultimately they will save you money.
