Toyota UK repairs will take up to 1 month
Toyota has this morning revealed that 180,000 new accelerator pedals have arrived in the UK to rectify issues identified in some Toyota vehicles. It is believed that the company has the capacity to fix 6,000 cars a day through its 208 service centres with each individual case taking no longer than 30 minutes to complete. While the issue should be fully rectified within the month it may take longer to rescue the reputation of Toyota!
Upwards of 8 million cars have now been recalled around the world and Toyota is struggling with yet more revelations of potential issues with other vehicles. It seems that at the moment it is open day for Toyota with rumours and speculation continuing to mount in the marketplace. Indeed the US authorities are now become involved after various complaints about other Toyota vehicles which will have to be investigated and may well result in more "fixes".
One of the major concerns within Toyota is the damaged reputation of the company's flagship hybrid car the Prius which many believe will now lose its premium pricing in the marketplace. This is a vehicle which has done well for Toyota but at the moment there is concern amongst consumers about safety and reliability.
